201 - DACIA ARO 10 4X4 *No Reserve*
On-site auction
Starting price 50 €
SOLD
BODYWORK: In completely original, unrestored condition. The paint has lost its shine, but the bodywork overall is very well preserved, with hardly any dents and no visible rust. As shown in the photos, even the underbody and chassis are in remarkable condition —undoubtedly helped by the fact that this vehicle has spent its entire life in a dry inland region of Spain.
MECHANICAL CONDITION: This unit was in use until around 25 years ago, when it passed its last MOT inspection. Since then, it has not been driven on the road and will therefore require a full mechanical overhaul.
INTERIOR: The dashboard plastics and steering wheel are in good condition, but the upholstery will require restoration.
DOCUMENTS: Comes with original Spanish paperwork.
HISTORY: ARO was a Romanian manufacturer of off-road vehicles founded in 1957, which remained in operation until 2006. Its name derives from “Auto Romania.” The ARO 10 was a small off-road vehicle introduced in 1980 and produced until the end of the brand’s existence. It used many components from the Dacia 1300, itself based on the Renault 12 platform. The car was inspired by models such as the Renault Rodeo and Citroën Méhari and was sold in the United Kingdom as the Dacia Duster, or as the Dacia 10 in other export markets. The example shown here, registered in 1989, was recently discovered within a large private collection and has remained in the province of Badajoz since new.
