HISTORY: At the end of the 19th century, the most popular motor vehicle in France was neither a car nor a motorcycle, but the De Dion-Bouton tricycle. Thousands of units were sold across Europe, and although its success lasted little more than a decade, from 1895 to 1905, it left a profound mark on the history of the automobile. Many of its technical solutions were remarkably advanced for their time and influenced the design of other contemporary vehicles.
Today, it is a highly sought-after piece among collectors and museums worldwide. This exceptional 1899 example, restored nearly forty years ago by Josep Raja, one of Spain’s foremost specialists in early mechanical restoration, remains complete and in excellent condition.
