With just the push of a button — magic — the metal roof folded neatly into the trunk, revealing all the elegance of a convertible. In 1957, this was Ford Motor Company’s top-of-the-line model. The Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner boasted its revolutionary power-operated retractable hardtop, which folded entirely into the boot. Its stunning exterior is enhanced by a striking red and white colour combination, complemented by the abundant chrome trim that epitomises 1950s American cars.

This particular unit was originally sold in Mexico, where it spent most of its life. It was restored several years ago, so it would now benefit from some light cosmetic attention to achieve perfection. In 2010, it was imported into Spain and registered as a Historic Vehicle. It has not been used on the road in recent years, having been stored on stands and displayed in a museum.
