HISTORY: In 1946, the French company Hotchkiss partnered with Willys-Overland Export Corporation to sell and distribute the Jeep CJ-2A and later the CJ-3A in France. In 1952, Willys granted Hotchkiss a license to manufacture and sell spare parts for both military and civilian markets, and later authorized the production of entire Willys-Overland vehicles. The first model assembled under this agreement was the JH201.

By 1955, a full production and assembly line had been established at the French plant. The first order from the French Army was for 465 vehicles, designated “Jeep Hotchkiss licence MB.” In fact, these vehicles were virtually identical to the American-made models.

This particular unit was originally sold in France, where it spent most of its life. It was restored around 15 years ago and later acquired by a Spanish collector, who imported and registered it in Spain as a Historic Vehicle. It has spent the last several years displayed in a museum and has seen very little use. The vehicle is fully equipped with a shovel, radio antenna, and a rifle with a metal casing, among other accessories.
