HISTORY: In the mid-1960s, mod culture evolved towards a more performance-oriented approach within the scooter world. Several specialist tuning companies emerged to serve this growing market of enthusiasts, among which Supertune—located on Brighton Road, South Croydon—became particularly prominent. Supertune quickly earned a national reputation thanks to its competition successes, frequently featured in scooter magazines and other publications of the era. The company’s distinctive paint design on the side panels was widely imitated by fans across the country and continues to be replicated today. Supertune sold many new Lambrettas prepared for road use and finished in its own characteristic livery.
This unit was completely restored and converted into a Supertune replica in France by the specialist company Casa Lambretta France.
