112 - MERCEDES-BENZ 170 V *No Reserve*
On-site auction
Starting price 50 €
SOLD
BODYWORK: In good condition, finished in its correct black colour, it was restored some years ago. The chrome trim is generally well preserved, with only minor defects on the front bumper.
MECHANICAL CONDITION: Fitted with its original 4-cylinder petrol engine. The car starts and runs, although it has not been used for several years, so a full mechanical inspection is recommended before returning it to the road. It is a matching-numbers example.
INTERIOR: Restored some years ago and reupholstered, the interior remains in good condition with a pleasant patina.
DOCUMENTS: Original Spanish documentation, with registration from the province of Seville.
HISTORY: This example belongs to the famous Mercedes-Benz 170 series, which became very well known in post-war Spain, particularly for the diesel versions popularly nicknamed “Lola Flores” due to their distinctive sound. However, this car features the original petrol engine, which offers much smoother and quieter operation, making these variants considerably rarer and more sought after by collectors today.
Originally sold new in Spain, it was registered in Seville in 1951 when purchased by a member of the well-known Ybarra business family. The car was restored many years ago and, although it has not been driven in the last three years, it has been carefully stored and well preserved.
