The first generation Seat Ibiza was an iconic model and one of the most common sights on Spanish roads for decades, though today it has nearly disappeared from daily use. The red Seat Ibiza driven by “The Professor” was initially intended for use only in the first season, but ultimately appeared across multiple seasons, featuring in numerous sequences —from street scenes to action moments in a scrapyard. This red Ibiza has become instantly recognisable to anyone who has watched La Casa de Papel.

This particular car corresponds to the facelift of the first-generation Ibiza, introduced in 1991, known as the “Ibiza New Style”, launched after Volkswagen Group became a shareholder in Seat. It is the five-door version, equipped with the 1.5-litre “System Porsche” engine, electric windows, and air conditioning. On 18 April 2018, La Casa de Papel won an International Emmy Award for Best Drama Series—an unprecedented achievement in Spanish television history.
