DOCUMENTS: Comes with original Spanish historical documentation, including its 1967 Barcelona provincial number plates.

HISTORY: The Mistral was the last of the classic six-cylinder Maseratis. Designed by Pietro Frua and introduced in 1963, this attractive two-seater was built on a shortened version of the square-tube chassis also used for the Sebring and the 3500 GT. Maserati offered both Coupé and Spider versions, and the Coupé’s opening rear window made it a surprisingly practical grand tourer. A five-speed gearbox and disc brakes were standard, while air conditioning—fitted to this example—was optional.

Maserati equipped the Mistral with three evolutions of its robust twin-cam straight-six, whose lineage can be traced back to the legendary 250F Grand Prix engine. Most production Mistrals were powered by the 3.7-litre version, all of them featuring Lucas mechanical injection. Production ceased in 1970, with a total of 827 Coupés and 123 Spiders built.

This example was most likely sold and registered new in Spain through Auto-París, the official importer at the time. Its early history is unknown, but the current owner acquired it in 2000. Around six years ago, the car was sent to a specialist workshop for a full restoration, supported by invoices amounting to approximately €75,000.
