161 - MERCEDES-BENZ Unimog 411
On-site auction
Starting price 11.400 €
BODYWORK: This Unimog features a canvas top and the shortest wheelbase version. It is fitted with an unusual circular step bolted to each front wheel to facilitate access to the cabin and, according to reports, it was restored many years ago. As a result, the bodywork shows some imperfections, which give it a very authentic appearance.
MECHANICS: This 411 is powered by a 1.8-litre diesel engine sending power through a 6-speed gearbox, then through a 2-speed transfer case to the front and rear axles, and finally to the wheels via portal gear hubs. It has been off the road for several years and will require a full mechanical recommissioning.
INTERIOR: The seats are in very good condition, having been reupholstered. The rest remains in a very original state, finished in textured paint.
DOCUMENTS: Registered as a Historic Vehicle in Spain, with all the benefits and exemptions this entails.
HISTORY: The Mercedes-Benz Unimog 411 is one of the most desirable early variants, as it incorporates a wide range of improvements introduced by Daimler-Benz engineers after the company acquired the Unimog division in the early 1950s.
This unit has spent recent years on display in a museum and has therefore seen very little use. It includes two original sets of wheels.
