HISTORY: During the Second World War, Royal Enfield supplied nearly 30,000 units of its Model C, adapted for military use, to the British armed forces and several Allied armies. The first version, the WD/C, was equipped with a side-valve engine, while from 1942 onwards the improved WD/CO appeared, featuring an overhead-valve engine with increased power, a 4-speed foot-operated gearbox, coil ignition, and dry-sump lubrication with the oil tank integrated into the crankcase.
The example offered here has never been restored and remains in its original condition. Despite its aged appearance, it has been in regular running order until quite recently.
