BODYWORK: In original, unrestored but very well-preserved condition. The paint on most of the bodywork appears to be original and retains its full shine. It has recently been professionally polished and detailed, and presents exceptionally well.

MECHANICS: The vehicle has been off the road in recent years and will therefore require a full mechanical inspection. It is equipped with a manual gearbox, a very rare configuration for this model.

INTERIOR: In very good, exceptionally well-preserved condition. A beautiful combination of light tones and wood, with virtually no visible defects—almost as it left the factory. It has recently been professionally cleaned and detailed.

HISTORY: Introduced in 1977 to compete with contemporary Mercedes-Benz models, the E23 7 Series did not achieve strong commercial success until five years after its launch. In the late 1970s, sales were below expectations, prompting BMW to re-engineer the 735 with the legendary 635 CSi powerplant, complemented by a new five-speed manual gearbox. In 1980, headlamp washers became standard equipment and, more importantly, Bosch Motronic fuel injection was added. In 1982, the model received a redesigned front end with an E30-style grille that improved aerodynamics.

The vehicle shown in the photographs, wearing a 1989 registration, already benefits from all of these updates gradually introduced by the Bavarian marque. Although its early history is unknown, it is an exceptionally well-preserved example, completely original and with hardly any defects. The odometer shows approximately 192,000 kilometres which, given the outstanding condition of the interior, is highly likely to be accurate.
