BODYWORK: In original, unrestored but well-preserved condition. The paint on most of the bodywork appears to be original and would benefit from a polish.

MECHANICAL CONDITION: This vehicle was last started on 26 June 2021. Since then, it has not been driven on the road and has remained stored on axle stands. A full mechanical inspection will be required before it can be driven again.

INTERIOR: This example, corresponding to the first series, still features the more classic-style dashboard with circular dials, which was later replaced by a more angular, futuristic design derived from the Coupé in the model’s second series. The original upholstery was replaced at some point with a more modern leather interior, which is now in very good overall condition.

HISTORY: While a reasonable number of the luxurious Fiat 130 Coupé models reached Spain at the time—often through official institutions such as the College of Notaries—its larger four-door sibling was rarely seen outside of Italian brand exhibitions and auto shows. This makes the discovery of this Madrid-registered 1973 example particularly noteworthy. It remains highly original and retains under the bonnet the powerful V6 engine designed by the renowned engineer Aurelio Lampredi.

The Fiat 130 was notably fast and more spacious than its Mercedes-Benz or Jaguar contemporaries, but above all, it stood out for its comfort features: height-adjustable seats, a steering wheel adjustable for both height and reach, a dual ventilation/heating system with air-mixing controls, adjustable rear footwell vents operated from the central tunnel, air conditioning, and flow-control valves at the base of the rear window to ensure air recirculation even when the windows and vents were closed.
