HISTORY: Launched in October 1961, the Jaguar Mark X was developed with the North American market in mind and was a large car by European standards. Technically more advanced than previous Jaguar saloons, it featured independent rear suspension similar to that of the E-Type sports car. For a vehicle weighing around two tonnes, the Mark X—with a top speed of 193 km/h, was remarkably fast, although its weight inevitably affected fuel consumption. As with all Jaguar saloons, the interior was exceptionally well appointed and extremely comfortable, with power steering fitted as standard. This particular example was originally sold in Spain and has been restored.
