The 1600 cc dual-port Volkswagen engine, first produced for the Beetle (Type I) in 1971, remains the most reliable and cost-effective replacement engine available today. With the introduction of the dual intake port cylinder head, improved carburettor, and upgraded lubrication and cooling systems, performance and reliability were significantly enhanced compared to earlier versions. This engine type, with only minor modifications, powered the Beetle until the end of its production in Germany in 1979, and later in Mexico until 2003. This particular unit is also fitted with an alternator.

INTERIOR: The interior has been fully restored and reupholstered in a bright, elegant light tone that complements the exterior colours beautifully.
