142 - HUPMOBILE Model 32 Tourer

On-site auction

Closing date

Starting price 24.000 €

BODYWORK: The body of this vehicle was restored in an attractive two-tone blue and white combination. It features the original sliding sunroof, arrow-shaped side indicators, and the distinctive oval rear window. Many new parts have been fitted, including hubcaps, running boards, and other trim elements.

MECHANICAL CONDITION: Equipped with a powerful 1600 cc engine. The 1600 cc dual-port Volkswagen engine, first produced for the Beetle (Type I) in 1971, remains the most reliable and cost-effective replacement engine available today. With the introduction of the dual intake port cylinder head, improved carburettor, and upgraded lubrication and cooling systems, performance and reliability were significantly enhanced compared to earlier versions. This engine type, with only minor modifications, powered the Beetle until the end of its production in Germany in 1979, and later in Mexico until 2003. This particular unit is also fitted with an alternator.

INTERIOR: The interior has been fully . restored and reupholstered in a bright, elegant light tone that complements the exterior colours beautifully.

DOCUMENTS: Comes with original Spanish paperwork.

HISTORY: This unit was originally sold in Switzerland by the distributor AMAG, which fitted an individually numbered identification plate on all vehicles it sold—still present on this car—and even produced some Karmann Ghia units under licence. It likely arrived in Spain during the 1960s and was registered in the province of Valencia in 1967. More recently, it underwent a careful restoration and light customisation in its paintwork, upholstery, and mechanical setup, resulting in a charming and enjoyable car that combines the vintage appeal of its oval window with the enhanced performance of its upgraded engine.
