HISTORY: Jawa designed the DT 890 for speedway racing, which was typically held on oval dirt or sand tracks measuring between 400 and 600 metres in length. From the 1960s through the 1980s, the Czech manufacturer dominated this discipline, winning countless titles worldwide with its machines.
The frame consists of welded and reinforced steel tubing to ensure maximum rigidity. It features a small 25-litre fuel tank mounted on elastic supports and, as is standard in speedway racing, it is not equipped with brakes. The engine is fed by a 34 mm carburettor and produces around 60 hp, transmitting power directly to the rear wheel without a gearbox.
The history and racing record of this particular motorcycle are unknown, but it is complete and well preserved—very likely in the same condition as when it last competed.
