MECHANICS: The car starts and runs, but it has been unused for several years, so a full mechanical inspection is recommended before returning it to the road. It is equipped with the original manual gearbox, quite an uncommon feature among American-spec 280 SLs.

INTERIOR: Finished in black leather with headrests. The cabin is in good original condition, showing only minor signs of wear consistent with use.

DOCUMENTS: Currently awaiting registration in Europe, it comes with all import documentation up to date, including the DUA tax paid. It is ready for registration. VAT is deductible.

HISTORY: This example corresponds to the final version of the legendary “Pagoda”, the 280 SL, featuring the largest and most powerful engine of the series. It was originally sold in the United States in 1969, where it remained until being imported to Spain around 20 years ago. However, it was never registered, so it has seen little use since then, despite being operational. The car remains largely in its original state and has never undergone a full restoration. It could be enjoyed as it is or would also make an excellent and solid basis for a comprehensive restoration, an investment well justified given the current high value of these models.
